Systemwide Informational Picketing
Tomorrow, November 15th
11:00 am – 1:00 pm (local time)
WE ARE READY… FOR A RAISE!
We have not had any compensation increases since 2019, and inflation is at an all-time high. We worked through COVID-19 and were instrumental in American’s return to profitability.
We are ready for:
- Boarding pay
- Reserve override
- Sit Rig
- Increased training pay
- Profit sharing
- Wage increases
- 401K increases
WE ARE READY… FOR ENHANCED BENEFITS!
Coming out of COVID, we need more protections in healthcare, not fewer. The Company wants us to waive your local and state laws that provide benefit(s) for self and family (e.g., CASK, MA SK, IL SK)- that’s a HARD no.
We are ready for:
- FMLA not to be auto designated.
- Caps on employee contributions to healthcare costs.
- The opportunity to contribute to an RHRA/HRA.
- Subsidized healthcare for 36 months (not the current 12 months) when on unpaid medical leave.
WE ARE READY… TO PROTECT RESCHEDULING!
Management’s proposed Rescheduling strategy focuses on rescheduling Lineholders first, prior to utilizing a Reserve. The Company is proposing to utilize Lineholders in irregular operations first to prevent exhausting all Reserves.
Management’s proposal includes:
- Use a deadhead to work regardless of reserve coverage.
- Use disrupted crew to cover any flying regardless of their original schedule.
- Disrupt the crew’s schedule to cover any flying regardless of their original schedule.
WE ARE READY… FOR REST!
Sequences are constructed with long duty days and short rest periods, so any weather event, maintenance issue, or staffing inconsistency leads to major disruptions, delays, and cancellations.
We are ready for:
- 10 hours “behind the door” for DOM/NIPD.
- Penalty pay for delayed hotel assignments.
- A 14:00 operational domestic on-duty maximum.
- Maintain IPD layover to no less than 14 hours in actual operations.
WE ARE READY… TO GET TO WORK!
With recent base closures and so many still displaced, commuting improvements are crucial.
We are ready to:
- Remove the weight restriction for the jumpseat.
- Include other airlines under the commuter policy.
- Expand qualifications for the first flight under the commuter policy.
WE ARE READY… FOR QUALITY-OF-LIFE IMPROVEMENTS!
Our quality of life just isn’t what it used to be.
We are ready for:
- More flexibility in TTS/UBL trading.
- Reserves to access TTS/UBL on their days off.
- More vacation days, particularly for junior Flight Attendants.
- Vacation days to be worth 5:00 regardless of vacation length.
- Three (3) reserve availability periods (RAPs).
- A limit to the use of flex days (FD).
It’s notable that while the Company is amenable to allowing Reserves to use TTS/UBL on their days off, they are proposing to restrict picking up on the first day off to a 1200 report. They are also proposing that home base rest (HBR) must be completed prior to 0200 of your first reserve day.
WE ARE READY… TO STOP THE VIOLATIONS!
The Company is insisting that it can dictate which grievances become a Presidential grievance.
We are ready to:
- Strengthen and streamline the grievance process.
- Protect and enforce contract language.
- Resolve cases at the base level that are precedent-setting.
- Set the pace grievances will be heard before an arbitrator.
- Set a defined minimum number of days to hear cases annually.
- Stop DELAYING!
