Final Notes for the DCA Base:Again, we report that our December PBS final awards were not much better than in previous months. We still see minimum constraints of 70 and 78 hours starting at system seniority 1 and 10,882, and our reserve numbers were higher than what was needed.
As many of you know, we have advocated for more line holders and fewer reserves to balance the flying hours and help eliminate forced time in PBS.
Once a FA is held to a minimum of 78 hours, the system can assign hours to the maximum threshold of 90 hours, even exceeding the line average.
With fewer lineholders and more reserves than in December and just slightly less block hours, we predict a similar forecast for our January PBS awards. This is unacceptable as this will again affect flexibility and quality of life.
Please let the company know we deserve better by sending this letter to senior management expressing our concerns and demanding that they work constructively with your bargaining agent, APFA.
I want to thank so many of you who made our first picketing event so successful, and I offer special appreciation to our contract action team and lead ambassador, Dylan Shaw. I hope to see you all for round 2!
We wish you a very Happy Holiday Season,
and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
In Solidarity,
