REAL ID Deadline Extended from May 3, 2023 to May 7, 2025
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that it has delayed full enforcement of the Real ID. It was supposed to go into effect on May 3, 2023. Full enforcement will now take effect on May 7, 2025.
REAL ID-compliant cards will have one of the following markings on the upper top portion of the card. If the card does not have one of these markings, it is not REAL ID-compliant and won’t be accepted as proof of identity to board commercial aircraft.
