Hello PHL,

Please join us in congratulating our Base Council Representatives duly elected for the next term 4/1/23-3/31/25. We have a total of 23 people who stepped up to help. Had one more person submitted their Willingness to Serve, it would have triggered an election. This is an exciting time for the PHL Base! We look forward to working with everyone very soon.

PICKETING

Another successful day! Thank you to everyone who came out to support the effort to secure a fair and equitable contract. It was extremely encouraging to see Flight Attendants of ALL seniorities alongside representatives from Spirit Airlines, Frontier, and our pilot group participating and coming together as a united front. Look for more activities monthly as we continue to negotiate an industry leading contract. Special shout out to Kai Kamolz, Savannah Keys, and Mitch Hake for organizing such a successful event. We would be remiss if we did not thank the Contract ACTION Planning Committee for securing the jumbotron truck that circled the airport continually throughout the picket.

SUMMER FLYING

We are waiting for the International schedule to be released. As soon as we know, we will share that with the base. We are not confident that we will see an increase in destinations this year, but we are hopeful 2024 will show growth with the addition of the 321XLR.

FA4 DELAYS

Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase of Flight Attendants charged with FA4 Delays (late to the gate). Please make sure you are onboard and ready to receive passengers at the appropriate times. If you receive a call from your FSM and they want to meet with you, you are entitled to Union Representation. To schedule a meeting, please call our office at (215) 360-3115.

CATERING ISSUES

We’ve received several reports of catering not stowing items properly. If you experience this, please document the date, flight #, and a photo. Send the information to [email protected]. We continue to meet with the company on this issue and are working to resolve it. (See section 37.F.4 in the contract for reference)

EARLY BOARDING

Early boarding continues to be an issue. Please fill out the ”Early Boarding Violation” form on the APFA website.

NEW DOOR CLOSING PROCEDURES

We have all seen the company communication and 1st quarter WBT on the subject. Please remember our door closing procedures remain mostly the same. The door may not be closed until the bags are stowed, bins are closed, exit rows are briefed, and the Captain has given us the ‘OK to close’. The #1 F/A confirms this with the Agent. If the door has been closed prior to this happening, fill out a CERS report under operational issues. Also file an ASAP due to the policy change and possible FAR violation. UNION DUES

Base elections and a possible vote on a new contract is coming up. It is more important than ever you make sure your union dues are up to date and a member in good standing to secure your right to vote. Please visit www.apfa.org and click ‘My Account,”which will take you to the Memberlink screen. Click the dropdown menu under Home Page, and then ‘My Profile’ to see your account information and make payments if necessary. If you have trouble logging onto the site, email [email protected] for assistance.
