March 2023 PHL Staffing and Allocations

Hello PHL –

The Staffing & Allocations call for March resulted in some good news and some not so good news. Our Reserve percentage is at 16.4% which systemwide is the 3rd lowest percentage behind BOS and DCA. We are down 1555 flight hours from February 2023. The breakdown given to us is as follows:

PIT Satellite Flying will see a slight increase of 39 hours for a total of 4849 hours of flying. You will notice an increase of 1-day trips. The Company is focusing on more point-to-point flying from the satellites resulting in the construction of more 1-day sequences.

International Flying is beginning to return to PHL. In March. BCN, LIS, and a 2nd LHR is scheduled to return on March 26th. LHR and LIS will return on a 787-9 which will increase 1 more F/A position to these destinations. We will continue to have 12 IPD departures for the up and coming summer schedule and are hopeful that 2024 will come with an increase in destination. We will continue to advocate for more IPD flying to return to pre-pandemic levels.

PHL Transatlantic Route Schedule

New Hire Flight Attendants are back! The Company will continue to hire Flight Attendants throughout 2023. We are expecting to welcome approximately 21 new Flight Attendants from class 23-01 in PHL on 2/27/23. These Flight Attendants are not included in the opening LRD numbers. As of today, classes 23-01, 23-02, 23-03 all have Flight Attendants assigned to the PHL Base. That’s GREAT news!
