Ballots Mailed for 2023 Base Representative Elections

Ballots for the 2023 Base Representative Elections were mailed to the membership today, February 7, 2023, to the following bases: CLT, DFW, LAX, MIA, ORD and PHL.

Ballots must be received in the designated Post Office Box no later than 1000 (CT) on March 9, 2023.

Where can I find information about the candidates?
Candidate information is now available on the “Union Elections” page on the APFA website. Paper candidate booklets will no longer be provided in the mail with your ballot, a QR code/link will also be included on your ballot.

What are the eligibility requirements to vote? How do I determine if I’m a member in good standing?
To be eligible to vote, you must be an active member in good standing. A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their dues obligation, with no dues in arrears for more than sixty (60) days. For your vote to count, you must be an active member in good standing by 1700 CT on March 6, 2023. (APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A-C – Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D)

You may check if you are a member in good standing or pay your dues by clicking on “Account” in the upper right-hand corner and logging in. For assistance in logging into the APFA website, please visit the main APFA homepage for video tutorials.

Where am I eligible to vote?
Ballots are mailed to all members in the bases in which elections are to be held. You are eligible to vote for the base in which you are based as of the ballot count date on March 9, 2023.

For those members who changed bases due to base closure, or voluntary transfer, your 2023 Base Representative Elections ballot will reflect your base you have on record effective March 9, 2023.

I recently moved or I have not received my ballot yet. How do I request a duplicate ballot?
The ballots for this election were just mailed today. Please refrain from requesting a duplicate ballot for a few days to provide time for your ballot arrive at the address you have on file with APFA.

If you do not receive a ballot (or need a replacement), you may request a duplicate by contacting our election partner, YesElections support desk at:

The last day to request a duplicate ballot is 1200 CT on March 2, 2023. The NBC does not advise members to wait until this date, as you may not have enough time to receive your ballot and mail it back. We ask that you read the information carefully before mailing back your ballot. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE YOUR VOTE.

Where do I mail my ballot?
Instructions on where to mail your completed ballot is included in the ballot instructions/return envelope.

• Do not mail your completed ballot to APFA HQ’s
• Do not bring it to the ballot count.
• Only ballots that are received in the designated Post Office Box listed on the return envelope with the ballot will be counted.

Where will the ballot count take place?
The ballots will be collected from the designated Post Office Box on March 9, 2023, at 1000 (CT). The ballot count will commence directly after at APFA Headquarters. Once the National Ballot Committee certifies the election results, a hotline will be sent to the membership.
