4.01.23 – APFA LGA Base Brief – New York Picketing Postponed
Saturday, April 1, 2023
Important Message to All NYC Flight Attendants:
April 4th NYC Picketing Postponed
I always look forward to our Contract ACTIONÂ events because New York has been and will continue to be a strong force behind the momentum in our current negotiations. But given the significant, high-profile event scheduled in Manhattan on Tuesday, April 4th, with a massive law enforcement presence and possible disruptive action surrounding this event, I have decided to postpone the in-person Contract ACTIONÂ picket. The NYPD force, including the Port Authority of NY&NJ, have all been put on high alert.
As your local base president, your safety and security are my most important responsibilities and ones I take very seriously. After discussing my concerns with APFA National President Julie Hedrick, we feel it is always in our member’s best interest to exercise caution when our safety and security are at stake.
New York’s determination to achieve an industry-leading contract remains strong –We Are READY for what we have earned and deserve!
In Solidarity,
Christian M. Santana
