PHX Solidarity ACTION Item

The APFA Government Affairs Department, alongside other aviation Unions, has been working hard to make improvements for Flight Attendants in the 2023 FAA Reauthorization Bill, which Congress must pass this year. Our priorities in this bill include improving cabin air quality, addressing hot cabin temperatures, deterring disruptive passengers, updating aircraft emergency evacuation standards, and more.

In addition, APFA also supports the Good Jobs Good Airports Act in solidarity with SEIU, CWA, and UNITE HERE. The bill would set national wage and benefit standards for essential airport and airline workers. Passing the Good Jobs Good Airports Act would help retain quality workers here in PHX who would otherwise search for jobs with better wages and benefit packages.

SEIU’s Airport Workers United is asking us to show solidarity to support the people working at airports nationwide. Stand up with other frontline aviation workers across several industries to help get well-deserved quality-of-life improvements and access to healthcare.
