August 2023 PHL Staffing and Allocations
Thursday, July 6, 2023
Hello PHL,
We hope you enjoyed your 4th of July weekend.
On July 3, we had our monthly allocations and staffing call. We reviewed the information for the August bidding month. Our PHL flying hours are slightly increased to 150,670 hours. (last month we had 149,008) Our Reserve percentage will open at 20.5% compared to 21% in 2022. The opening line average will be 83.8. We do expect that to be closer to 80.0 once the bidding process begins and layer 1 target credit ranges and carry-over credit waivers are determined.
ODANs
We have gained additional ODAN time – RDU, BGR, ORD, PWM, BOS, BTV will be available to bid.
PIT Satellite
PIT Satellite flying increased by 76 hours for the month of August for a total of 4,780. *FYI… AA currently operates 16 Satellite/Co-Terminal Bases. PIT ranks #3 in the amount of flying hours, just behind SNA and FLL.
New Hires
We do not have new hires joining our team in PHL for the month of August. The Company plans on hiring new Flight Attendants through the end of the year. We will let you know when PHL is scheduled to get more.
Purser-Qualified Flight Attendants
A recent mobileCCI message indicated the Company would begin tracking Purser hours immediately. We have an update. Purser hours will be tracked starting January 2024. If you are purser-qualified, please familiarize yourself with JCBA Section 14.L.4.iv.
