Voter Eligibility for the
Strike Authorization Vote (SAV)

A Strike Authorization Vote (SAV) allows Flight Attendants to show their solidarity and readiness to use all legal means under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) to secure the contract that we have rightfully earned. All members in good standing are eligible to vote in the SAV. As long as you are a Member in good standing, you are eligible to vote while on probation. In the event of an actual strike, Flight Attendants on probation have the same legal rights as everyone else and the full protection of the union.

Last month, your APFA Board of Directors passed policy implementing a payment arrangement program for members with balances over $82 (two months of dues).

Payment arrangements are available to members of APFA only who have paid their initiation fee or re-join fee paid in full and have signed a membership card. Agency Fee Payers and Ellis Objectors are not eligible for payment arrangements.

Short-Term Payment Arrangements
Members with balances of at least $82 but less than $492 are eligible to make payment arrangements to pay their balance over 6 months.

Long-Term Payment Arrangements
Members with balances of $492 (1 years’ worth of dues) and greater are eligible to make payment arrangements to pay their balance over 12 months.

After payment arrangements have been executed (the first payment has been made, and a conditional payment agreement has been signed), the member will be considered in good standing in 30 days.

In order to be eligible to vote in the SAV, a payment plan must be initiated and first payment received must be completed by July 30 at 5pm (CT). To request a payment arrangement, please email [email protected] immediately.

Select ‘My Account’ in the top right corner. Your balance and arrears balance will be shown on the right, below the language selection drop-down field.
