8.03.23 – APFA ORD Base Brief – September 2023 Staffing and Allocations
September 2023 ORD Staffing and Allocations
Thursday, August 3, 2023
It’s already time to discuss September!
If you haven’t already voted in the historic Strike Authorization Vote, you have until August 29th!
If you have ANY questions about this vote and what it means for you, please contact APFA to get the facts. There are plenty of resources available to help with any questions you might have! The CAT team will be in the terminal every day in August. You can call 806-4STRIKE (806-478-7453) or email [email protected].
As a reminder – EVERYONE in good standing has EVERY right to vote. Probationary flight attendants are included in this! If you are on probation, VOTE! If you fly with someone on probation, remind them! We are a team; we need to step up and ensure we all take part!
Staffing
Due to a slight pulldown from the summer peak flying, the line average for ORD for September is lower than the last few months, hopefully allowing more wiggle room in everyone’s schedules while bidding in PBS.
The reserve percentage is 20.7% vs system average of 20.5%
The expected line average for Chicago at PBS open is expected to be 79.9 vs the system average of 80.2.
The number of ODANs was severely reduced for September. The rationale was that the changes in flights and adjusted departure times affected the number of ODANs for programing. We asked for more ODANs in future months, they committed to trying to create them in the October bid sheet. We will keep an eye on the ODANs and continue to push for more.
