Strike Authorization Vote
We are at a critical junction where we need to demonstrate to the Company that our Flight Attendant group is ENGAGED, UNIFIED, and WE ARE READY for the contract we deserve!
You may ask yourself how do we do that? WE VOTE! Now thru August 29, 2023, our strike authorization vote is open.
I am on probation. Am I allowed to cast a strike authorization vote?
All APFA Members in good standing, including probationary Flight Attendants, may participate in the strike authorization vote. Your vote is completely confidential. Neither APFA nor the election vendor will be able to access how anyone voted. Management will not have access either.
You cannot be terminated for casting a vote, whether or not you are on probation.
I am in dues arrears. When is the last day I can pay my past dues to cast my strike authorization vote?
To be eligible to vote, you must be dues current by August 24th at 5:00pm CT. To make a payment, visit apfa.org, click ‘My Account‘ at the top right of the landing page, and then select ‘Pay My Dues‘ from the dropdown menu. You may also click here for a tutorial video on dues payment.
- If you are dues current- You are eligible to vote!
- If you are on probation- You are eligible to vote!
- If you are on a payment plan and current- You are eligible to vote!
September 2023 PHL Staffing and Allocations
Yesterday was our monthly allocations and staffing call. Here is what we know for September:
Our monthly block hours were reduced by 6,454 hours. Although that is alarming to hear, it is in line with the summer pull-down in the schedule for this time of year. We are still under last year’s block hours by approximately 4% systemwide. Our opening line average is set at 79.9, with our Reserve coverage at 17.5%.
Our available headcount is 2,337 Flight Attendants, with 408 expected to be on Reserve. Although the opening line average is 79.9, we expect that to change based on bidding behavior. We have no new hire Flight Attendants joining us on the line this month. Hiring is expected to continue through the end of the year.
PIT Satellite Flying
PIT Satellite flying is reduced by 74 hours for the month of September to 4,706 hours. In August we had 4,780 hours.
ODANS
Available to bid are ORD, BDL, PIT, BTV, PWM, BOS, and BGR. Although we have several cities, please note that they do not all operate every day.
