9.10.23 – Doha PBS Bidding/APFA PHL Office Phone/General Reminders
Sunday, September 10, 2023
Hello PHL,
Doha (DOH) PBS Bidding
October begins a new type of flying for us here in PHL. PBS bidding is now open. DOH, sequence 0820, will be considered an Extended Long Range trip with a credit value of 27:10 hours. The layover is 38:40 hours.
Consider this when bidding for the DOH trip in PBS:
- Home Base Rest (HBR) after a DOH trip requires 48:45 from release to report (JCBA Section 14.H.2.b and 14.H.3).
- Using the line waiver, Waive Minimum Domicile Rest, will reduce HBR to 25:30 from release to report.
- DOH will be staffed with 10 Flight Attendants.
- There will be no speakers at this time.
Please review the Service and Position Assignments in the OSM. Position 10 is a MC aisle position. In addition, there is a Read and Sign for DOH in our EFBs that must be completed before you fly this trip.
Everyone is required to complete the Read and Sign. This overnight has many restrictions, unlike any other IPD destination. During IROPS, the maximum amount of time allowed to remain on duty will be the originally scheduled duty period plus 3 hours.
Bidding Trips Back-to-Back with DOH – Waive 30 hours in 7 Days
For October, DOH is scheduled to release in PHL at 1700. If using the waiver, Waive Minimum Domicile Rest, the earliest report possible for the next day will be 18:30. DOH reports at 1940.
You must use the waivers Waive Minimum Domicile Rest and Waive 30 hours in 7 Days in order for PBS to allow DOH to be awarded back-to-back.
Flying any other trip back-to-back after DOH will require 48:45 hours of Home Base Rest (HBR) without the waiver. With the waiver, HBR can be reduced to 25:30 hours.
When bidding DOH in your layers in PBS, include the waiver, Waive 30 hours in 7 Days (JCBA 10.D.14.e). This waiver allows you to exceed the contractual maximum of thirty (30:00) scheduled block hours in a rolling seven day period.
DOH will be a very different type of flying for PHL and may not be for everyone. We encourage you to review:
- EFB, DOH Know Before You Go. COMPLY365 > MY PUBLICATIONS > DESTINATION INFORMATION.
- Complete the Read and Sign.
- Review the service standards and position responsibilities in the OSM.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at the base.
