Make a Plan to Picket on November 16th:
Keep the Pressure On!
Monday, November 6, 2023
Make a plan to join us on November 16th, from 11am – 1pm ET, for an informational picketing event on the steps of the Massachusetts State House. The 99.47% Strike Authorization Vote announced in August was an incredible accomplishment, and we must keep the pressure on. We need everyone at the steps of the Massachusetts State House to show American Airlines, the media, and our passengers that we are unified in the fight for contractual improvements.
Mediated negotiation sessions have continued with American Airlines since the strike authorization vote, and management must come to the table with meaningful improvements. Our current wages were negotiated in 2014 and are insufficient for the world in which we live. We must secure fair wages and improved work rules, and that will take all of us standing together.
On October 24th, your negotiating committee set a deadline in conjunction with an intense picket right at the doorstep of AA Headquarters. If the company fails to make substantial progress in our upcoming negotiation meeting, the Board of Directors will convene on November 17th to approve a formal request to the National Mediation Board, seeking the release of APFA and American Airlines into a thirty-day cooling-off period. This would move the 26,000+ Flight Attendants at American Airlines closer to having the ability to strike.
We are inviting all Unions to stand alongside us in solidarity on November 16th, between 11 am and 1 pm ET, on the front steps of the Massachusetts State House.
