Election Notice
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 2 of the APFA Constitution, Notifications of Willingness-to-Serve are now being accepted for the NATIONAL OFFICER positions of NATIONAL PRESIDENT, NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT, NATIONAL SECRETARY and NATIONAL TREASURER. A complete list of duties for National President, National Vice President, National Secretary and National Treasurer can be found in Article III, Section 6 of the APFA Constitution.
Candidate Information
This election is open to all members in good standing. Each candidate must be a member in good standing by the closing of the Willingness-to-Serve deadline on December 7, 2023, at 1000 (CT). Any member in good standing may self-nominate or may nominate another member. Candidates not self-nominated will be contacted by the National Ballot Committee to confirm their Willingness-to-Serve. Please refer to the APFA Policy Manual, Section 14.G, for Willingness-to-Serve policies. Withdrawals must be made within three (3) days after the Willingness-to-Serve due date. You can review your membership, dues status, and/or make any necessary payments by logging into your account on APFA.org or by contacting [email protected].
Virtual Candidate Forum
The National Ballot Committee will hold a virtual candidate forum on December 8, 2023, at 1300 (CT). All candidates are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the election process and ask questions.
Voter Information
To be able to vote, each APFA member must be a member in good standing no later than five (5) days prior to the date the votes are counted (“balloting date”). The balloting date is January 26, 2024; therefore, you must be in good standing by January 22, 2024. The Dues Department endeavors to run the monthly billing on the 15th of every month. Members’ eligibility will be updated after monthly billing; therefore, it is strongly advised you check your membership status and dues by logging into APFA.org on or after that date to confirm your eligibility.
A member will also be eligible to vote if on an official APFA payment plan that was executed at least thirty (30) days prior to the balloting date and at least one payment has been made. Which means you must be on the official plan by December 27, 2023, for the primary election. You can set up an official APFA payment plan by contacting the dues department at [email protected] or by calling 817-540-0108.

Instructions for Willingness-to-Serve (WTS)
Any active member in good standing may nominate themselves or another member. You must be a member in good standing at the closing deadline of this Willingness-to-Serve, if you are not a member in good standing at the closing deadline of the Willingness-to-Serve, your Willingness-to-Serve will be deemed ineligible.
The Willingness-To-Serve (WTS) form is electronic. APFA will not accept paper Willingness-To-Serves. The only acceptable form is the electronic form found on APFA.org. There is an acknowledgment box and signature line at the end of the form that you will need to sign electronically. There are instructions on how to sign the form on the WTS. Once you have completed the form, you will click the submit button. You will receive notice that your Willingness-to-Serve has been submitted and a copy will be sent to the email address that you provided along with an Entry ID#. The NBC will also receive a confirmation e-mail with only the Entry ID, which may be used to verify that your Willingness-to-Serve has been received. You need only submit your Willingness-to-Serve one (1) time, but if you submit more than (1), for any reason, only the last submission received will be used.
NEW: You now can ‘Save Progress & Continue Later’. This option allows you to return to your Willingness-to-Serve later to complete. Under the ‘Save Progress & Continue Later’, it will allow you to email yourself a link that will bring you back to your form to complete. The link is valid for 30 days or until the form is submitted. Once you submit the form the link will no longer be valid. The NBC and APFA personnel are unable to access any Willingness-to-Serve forms, including any drafts or completed forms until the closing date and time.
To submit your form, complete ALL required fields and click Submit at the end. Saving your progress will NOT submit your form.
Each candidate’s information will be reprinted in a consistent format, and no graphics will be included. All candidate information is optional, including personal statements and references. There will be no corrections made to spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization, intent, or content. Per the APFA Policy Manual, Section 14.g.8.c, if limitations are exceeded, personal statements will be cut off at natural sentence break, and biographical information will be brought into compliance by cutting off line items where exceeded, and/or deleting the oldest items. The NBC will advise you if there is truncation due to limitations being exceeded. If you are notified that you have exceeded any limitations, you will not have an opportunity to make any revisions.
If you are nominating someone, we ask that you fill out any/all sections of the WTS including references, personal statements, and biographical information as all of this will be included in the electronic candidate booklet. The individual you are nominating will not have the opportunity to fill these sections out after the WTS is received.
It is your responsibility to inform references that their names will be published in the electronic candidate booklet.
References listed must be members in good standing at the time of the Willingness-to-Serve closing on December 7, 2023, at 1000 (CT).
As a reminder to all prospective candidates, the use of the APFA or the American Airlines logo, symbol or insignia on campaign material is strictly prohibited.
