Allocations Information:
The first week of January brings the Holiday peak flying schedule to a close after the schedule change on JAN 08. The winter pull-down in flying, bank cancellations, and frequency fluctuations will create changes in flying patterns, resulting in increased layover lengths for many destinations.
Widebody aircraft will be utilized domestically with the operational reduction in IPD flying. We did not see a spike in domestic WBD flying, which we did bring to the attention of the allocations department. We stressed the base enjoys 1-1 leg, two-day widebody flying and expects block hours to be shared evenly when possible.
Trip construction remained status quo for January. Pairings working one and two legs per day remain high, comprising 81.3% of all trips. Layovers over 24 hours increased by 0.7%, and duty days 11 hours and greater increased by less than 1%. The base requested an increase in two-day pairings, high-time turns, and domestic/NIPD widebody flying.
DFW received 387,546 block hours for January an increase of 9,687 hours from December. STL satellite has 4,376 hours, whereas AUS will have 1,587 hours for January.
