12.09.23 – Negotiations Update #44: Negotiations Continue Next Week
Saturday, December 9, 2023
Bargaining will continue December 12th to 14th in Tampa, Florida, a location chosen by the Federal Mediators. The National Mediation Board recently determined that more bargaining was warranted and did not approve our request to be released into a thirty-day cooling-off period and set up further bargaining dates (more information here).
The ball is clearly in management’s court. APFA passed comprehensive economic and non-economic proposals to the company in September. So now it is time for the company to give us a serious offer to reach a deal. The time for delays and stalling is over.
Yesterday, Flight Attendants at Southwest Airlines voted against their tentative agreement by an almost two to one margin. This should make it even more clear to American Airlines management that Flight Attendants across the industry are demanding change and a recognition of our role in keeping this nation’s airlines flying through COVID and beyond.
Join our fellow Flight Attendants at United and Alaska for their upcoming Days of Action and Solidarity. Click the links below for locations, times, and to RSVP for an event:
