1.09.24 – Staffing Presidential Arbitration
Staffing Presidential Arbitration
Tuesday, January 9, 2024
The Arbitrator assigned to hear our Staffing Presidential Arbitration on January 16th, 2024, has encountered a sudden family emergency, compelling the need to postpone the hearing. The soonest available date to reschedule an Arbitrator to hear the grievance is April 16th–19th, 2024.
This delay is frustrating, and we share your eagerness to resolve the unwarranted staffing changes imposed by management during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flight Attendants operating on the A321T, 777-300, 777-200, and 787-9 have been diligently working under unreasonable workloads. These changes impact the quality of service we strive to deliver to our passengers and present safety challenges during medical and emergency situations that may arise during flights.
While unforeseen circumstances have disrupted our initial plans to present our case next week, we remain committed to addressing the staffing reductions and securing an Arbitrator decision that restores staffing on the affected aircraft and provides understaffing back pay for all affected Flight Attendants.
In Solidarity,
Larry Salas
