1.13.24 – An Important Update From Your APFA National Officers And APFA Base Presidents
Saturday, January 13, 2024
This week, National Vice President Larry Salas sent a hotline stating that the Arbitrator scheduled to hear the Staffing Presidential Arbitration encountered a sudden family emergency, compelling the need to postpone the arbitration. The soonest available date to reschedule the Arbitrator was April 16th-19th, 2024.
We want to ensure everyone understands that the communicated delay this week has to do with the Presidential Staffing arbitration, not our Negotiations process.
To clarify:
Presidential Grievance
- The Arbitrator scheduled to hear the Staffing Presidential Arbitration has encountered a sudden family emergency, and the arbitration is postponed. The arbitration has been rescheduled for April 16th-19th, 2024.
Negotiations
- The Mediator and the mediation process for negotiations remain unchanged. Your Negotiating Committee met with management this past week in DFW, and you will receive an update from those meetings via the normal Negotiations Update this coming week. There are no changes to negotiation dates- our next negotiation sessions with management are scheduled for the week of February 5th.
The Presidential Staffing arbitration is unrelated to our negotiations or the mediation process facilitating our negotiations.
