New! APFA Notification System for Critical Incidents
817-357-8786
American Airlines Inflight Management is responsible for providing the proper support Flight Attendants need when experiencing a critical incident while on duty, and communicating with APFA is an integral part of that responsibility.
In the past, communication to APFA from American Airlines has fallen short or, in some cases, never been received. Beginning today, APFA is implementing a notification system that offers an easy means for our members to notify the appropriate APFA departments when experiencing a critical incident while on duty. This number is now live and ready for use.
The APFA Notification System will allow members to directly notify APFA Safety and Security representatives of any critical incident on the aircraft, at the airport, or while on layover. Notifying APFA Safety and Security through the APFA Notification System will initiate internal procedures within the union. APFA Safety and Security, Base Presidents, Base Vice Presidents, National Officers, and EAP representatives all work collaboratively to provide support.
This system does not replace company procedures- it is another resource to ensure you receive help.
The new notification prompt system is set up as follows (click graphic below to enlarge):
How does the new notification system work?
- Call 817-357-8786.
- Select the corresponding prompt, and you will receive a detailed pre-recorded message.
- You will receive an automatic text message with important contact and reporting information and the necessary steps to report the situation and seek help.
- You may also text this number directly and an APFA Safety and Security Representative will be immediately notified.
After notifying your union, please call the American Airlines Inflight Operation Support Center.
Please save 817-357-8786 to your contacts and utilize the APFA Notification System to provide you with important information when experiencing an incident. Notifying your union by calling or texting 817-357-8786 holds the company accountable, and APFA remains informed of your well-being and safety.
You may find the APFA Notification System Privacy Statement here. For questions about this program, email [email protected].
