Allocations Information: Flying continues to ramp up for spring break and the summer peak season. The schedule change on April 04 brings new routes (BCN) and other exciting flying opportunities for the base.
Block hours have increased significantly for April, with DFW allocated an additional 20,917 hours compared to March. The base has seen a 5.3% increase in block hours month-over-month and 10.7% increase year-over-year.
Trip construction for April improved slightly with increased domestic widebody flying, high-time turns, and desirable ODANs operating daily. We were pleasantly surprised that some of our monthly concerns were addressed.
There is still much room for improvement, but we appreciate the progress. We will continue to monitor open time after PBS awards and through April for ODAN demand with the increased flying.
Reserve percentages (number of FAs serving reserve) decreased by 2.4% month-over-month. Planning attributed the decrease to improved Flight Attendant performance and operational reliability.
Base Leadership continues to ask for an increase in traditional two-day pairings and a decrease in three-day trips. The base has requested a 35% two-day trip length target and a 30% three-day target. Two-day trips provide more flexibility when managing schedules for many Flight Attendants, and flexibility is key as we transition to the peak summer schedule.
DFW received 408,046 block hours for April, an increase of 20,917 hours from March. STL satellite has 4,315 hours, whereas AUS satellite will have 1,576 hours for April.
