Vacation Results
On Tuesday, March 5th, the Primary Annual VAC bid results were published. Fifteen minutes after the awards were out, we realized the PHL base results were wrong! We immediately notified the Company of the error, and the bids were re-run and corrected on the evening of March 6th. Problem solved, right? WRONG! On Saturday, March 9th, we discovered that the PDF version of the available days to bid for the secondary round was never corrected! The calendar of available days was correct on the bidding screen, but the PDF version was never fixed. Again, we immediately notified the Company for correction.
We have filed a Base Notice of Dispute (NOD) for disparate treatment. Nine crew bases were given seven full days to bid for their vacation in the secondary round. The PHL Base was afforded only three days due to the errors in processing the primary bid. The Company failed to fix the secondary bid information. Management and department leaders must also be held accountable for their mistakes.
Attention Doha (DOH)Â Bidders
The flight time for DOH has changed for the April bid month. This was never communicated during the allocations process. The loss of a bid position affects the bid awards and the DOH service demands that have already pushed our crews to unreasonable limits. The reduction in crew will continue to negatively impact our crews and passengers in a highly coveted market. This is UNACCEPTABLE! We will continue to discuss this with APFA National and will be tracking the flying time.
American Airlines management has made it very clear that they do not respect their Flight Attendants. They do this every day through their lack of communication of information essential for us to do our job. Our workgroup is held accountable for our responsibilities and that of all workgroups since we spend the most time with our passengers. Management needs to be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof. WE DEMAND BETTER!
PHL STRONG! PHL PROUD!Â
