Labor Notes 2024
Last weekend, APFA Leadership, Base Council Representatives, and Contract ACTION Team (CAT) members met in Chicago for the 2024 Labor Notes Conference. Prior to the Conference, APFA held a Picketing Event at O’Hare, in which BOS APFA proudly represented our Base. The Conference hosted over 4,700 Union Members and Leaders from across the globe to celebrate the resurgence of a powerful labor movement. Labor Notes provides an opportunity for continuing union education, networking, and collaboration. Across the Labor Community, we share many of the same struggles and are fighting a common denominator: corporate greed.
Meetings with BOS Inflight Management
APFA BOS is seeing an uptick in conversations and meetings with Crew Managers (CM). If your CM has emailed or left a voicemail wanting to have a conversation or set up a meeting with you, you are contractually entitled to have Union Representation present. Let Devyn, Nicole or Kelli know the date, time, and nature of the meeting as soon as possible.
What Do I Do if I Get a Late Report (LR) That I Feel Should Be Mitigated?
Immediately contact [email protected] to inform them of the issues that caused the LR, why it should be excused, any pertinent supporting documents, and CC a Boston APFA Representative.
If the Late Report is due to an issue at Wonderland, please write it up on the Google Form with as much detail as possible including times, dates, names, and a description of the issue.
Check your HI10M and MyView each month for errors to protect yourself from unwarranted marks on your attendance or performance records as a result of management errors.
Reporting Systems
Reporting, collecting, and receiving data from our Flight Attendants is imperative for both APFA and the Company. We understand that it may take a few extra moments to do so, but please know that both APFA and AA use the data to report trends when it comes to catering, hotels, staffing, and payroll, to name a few. If things are not reported, the assumption made is that everything is fine. Please be sure to report issues via the proper form or channel. Here is a list of some of the most frequent report forms and where to find them:
APFA Website – Issues are reported to APFA HDQ
- CERS – Safety, Security & Inflight Medical
- Cabin ASAP
- Support Tab
- DirectConnect
EFB
- FA Reports – Multiple Topics are available to choose from, which are reported to AA, including Catering, Hotel/Limo, IFE, and Boarding Issues.
- CERS
- Cabin ASAP
Wonderland Parking Feedback
Thank you to everyone who has submitted reports via the Google Form. This data is valuable and will help push for change. If an issue you are reporting needs immediate attention, in addition to the form, please also contact a base representative. The form is for data collection, and issues like late buses resulting in Late Reports that need to be brought to management’s attention have a clock on them and need to be immediately addressed. We need everything in writing, especially AA Management’s response to issues as they occur.
