All,
The Contractual Month of June is June 2nd through July 1st. June’s schedule change takes place on June 5th.
The available headcount for June is 3720. This is up slightly from May and an increase of 287 jobs year-over-year. We are projected to have 743 Reserves for June. That represents 21.2% of the base. The line average will be 83.3 hours at PBS opening. Our Reserve numbers have jumped 4.9% from May, and .7% higher than June 2023.
We have 132 new hires reporting to base in May and June. There are three classes reporting for both May and June. Class 24-15 is the last class scheduled for the year. They are graduating on July 2nd. Hiring is slowing due to delayed aircraft deliveries. This plan can always change, we always hope for more new hires.
The LRD tool does not reflect 132 new hires who will be on Reserve for June. The LRD tool indicates 743 Reserves. The actual number of required Reserves is 875. So, if you are on Reserve and senior on the list, make sure to back up your PBS bids with Lineholder bid preferences.
Flying Summary:
EZE returns daily on June 5th on the 777-200. GIG will operate daily on the 777-200. GRU will operate two daily flights with a Rocket on the 787-8, and a 38-hour layover on the 777-300. LHR will continue to operate two daily flights split between the 777-300 and the 777-200. BCN will operate daily on the 787-8, and MAD operates on the 777-200.
Our wide-body NIPD and Domestic flying continues to be significantly reduced due to the aircraft moving into the long-haul international markets at other bases and aircraft deliveries delayed. We will be limited to a daily 777-200 to LAX with a 27-hour layover, a DFW two-day, 1-1 (starting on the 6th) daily on split 787/777 sequences. There are several 777 trips that operate just one day. There will be no NIPD wide-body flying. We continue to ask Allocations to push more wide-body flying into our base.

Pay Protection, Rescheduling Procedures,
and Crew Compensation Timelines
With the hurricane/rainy season coming soon bringing multiple operational irregularities daily, a reminder of procedures for these operational issues is fitting. We want to provide you with an overview of what to expect when these occur, and the timelines for Crew Compensation reviewing and adding the JCBA eligible pay protection to your schedule.
Pay close attention to the rescheduling procedures to avoid a missed trip (TM) if you have an obligation to Crew Scheduling or Crew Tracking.
Not Accepting ETB Posts
Designating a trip on your schedule as “Not Accepting ETB Posts” also prevents you from posting it for trade or drop in ETB.
You must take off the designation first, then you can post in ETB. The “Not Accepting ETB Posts” shows the sequence number in black on the My Schedule page of Crew Portal.
A new document in Comply365 requires your attention
In response to recent incidents and AA’s action plan with the FAA, a required Read and Acknowledge is being issued and is now available in Comply365.
What you need to do: Carefully review the document posted in Comply365 and follow the steps listed below to formally acknowledge your understanding of the procedures.
Comply365 > My Publications > Comply > ACTION REQUIRED: Read and Acknowledge
Your acknowledgement is required by May 18, 2024
The latest Quarterly Training modules are loaded into the Learning Hub. There are four modules for a total of 115 minutes. Per Section 29.E.3. of the JCBA, training pay for this quarter is $25.
