APFA Opens Strike Command Center

APFA Strike Command Center (SCC)
Today, we open APFA’s Strike Command Center (SCC), which will serve as a centralized communications center, ensuring effective communication among Flight Attendants during negotiations and potential strike actions.
This centralized communications center, located at APFA, is staffed with specially trained Union advocates, who are:
- Staffing a dedicated phone line to answer questions from Flight Attendants.
- Producing written materials, videos, and other resources to support Flight Attendants during a strike.
- Communicating with Flight Attendants to prepare them and support their needs.
The APFA Strike Command Center hours of operation currently are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. Hours will increase if we are released into a 30-day cooling-off period and a strike occurs.
This Strike Command Center is a resource to prepare us for potential strike actions. Other resources include a dedicated APFA strike webpage which will include a digital copy of the strike handbook. A strike handbook will also be mailed to your address on file with APFA. The strike handbook will be a critical guide in navigating strike procedures, so keep it in your flight bag if a 30-day cooling-off period is announced.
APFA has committed to Members that a tentative agreement will only be presented if it meets our economic requirements, including retroactive compensation for five years of stagnant wages. Given American Airlines management’s inadequate proposals at the bargaining table, all members should be readying themselves for a possible strike.
As previously communicated, strike preparations Flight Attendants could begin now include:
- Log into the APFA website and create a password (www.APFA.org). Store the password in a safe place.
- Ensure your address, phone number, and email address are correct with APFA.
- Set aside money where possible and take a look at personal finances.
- Consider moving up doctor/ dentist appointments.
- Refill prescriptions early if possible.
- Apply for “Union-friendly” credit cards that have provisions concerning payments in the event of a strike.
- Reconsider “big ticket” items, such as a new car or home.
- Follow APFA on Instagram (@apfaunity), X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.
Contact an APFA Representative for guidance on strike preparations, negotiation inquiries, or general strike-related questions. In the event of a strike, the Strike Center will be available 24/7 for Flight Attendants needing support and guidance.
Continue to wear your red WAR pin, red lanyard, and bag tags until we secure the contract we’ve earned.
