Allocations Information: August will start the drawdown of the peak summer schedule after the schedule change on August 06. Block hours are down 3.8% from July (-15,099 hrs.), and line averages have decreased by 2.5 hours monthly. Flying patterns and frequencies will be disrupted during the Labor Day holiday period.

Operational fluctuations will impact the last week of August and continue into the first week of September. DFW will experience narrow body cuts and bank cancellations on 08/27, 08/28, 08/31, 09/01 and 09/03.

Trip construction is similar to July, with improvements in high-time turns and reduced sit/connect times. Domestic layovers of 24 hours and longer increased for August, while redeye pairings decreased by 1.7%. Pairings working one to two legs per day are 80.3% of all pairings, while trips working three to four legs per day are 19.7%.

When a trip has a four-leg day, we request that FAs stay on the same aircraft to reduce their duty day. Base leadership asked for improvements in trip durations, increasing two-day trips and decreasing three-day pairings. We also requested programming adjustments to incorporate a pattern of AM reports followed by AM returns and, vice versa, PM reports followed by PM returns for some pairings. Many trips now have FAs signing in early on the first day and returning late on the second or third day. Flexibility is a critical factor in trip construction, giving the ability to manipulate schedules to meet FAs’ busy lives.

DFW received 403,277 block hours, a decrease of 15,099 hours from July. The STL satellite has 4,420 hours, whereas the AUS satellite will have 1,586 hours for August.
