Happy August!

Thank you to everyone who is seeking information on the Tentative Agreement. There are many ways to learn about what we will be voting on: attending in-person town halls, watching the virtual town halls, calling the TA call center with questions, and asking questions directly to the CAT team, negotiators, and base leaders.

Yesterday was the Staffing and allocations call for the September contractual period. The contractual month is August 31st – September 30th.

The September bid month there will be 75 VLOAs awarded for Chicago. VLOA bidding window is August 3rd, 1200 – August 7th, 1200. For more VLOA information, the recent APFA Hotline provides more information.

Allocations

30% of the hours for September are made up of widebody flying.

787 domestic:

DFW turn August 31st – September 3rd

There is a 787 Special Event sequence to accommodate the Green Bay Packers. Positions 1-11 on the 787. Departure on September 3rd with a layover in GRB and GRU. Those awarded this trip can ask flight service for more specific destination information.

ODAN departures are down slightly, to 13 per day.

Staffing
The reserve percentage for ORD is 18.5%. The system average is 19.3%. The percentage could go down (18%) depending on how many VLOAs are awarded.

Line average for ORD at PBS open is expected to be 77.0 vs system average of 77.9.

Two-day sequences have increased, which is welcome. Turn percentages have decreased for September, due to Chicago bank reductions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays, which affects the number of turns that could be created. The bank cancelations affected every base, not only Chicago. Future months may bring a more balanced bank structure, which enables more turns to be created.
