8.06.24 – APFA LGA Base Brief – Tropical Storm Debby
Tropical Storm Debby
Tuesday, August 6, 2024
Yesterday, I touched base with Skyview’s Attendance team and local management to ensure readily available support for Flight Attendants affected by Tropical Storm Debby. The storm continues to move slowly from northern Florida to the Carolinas. By the middle of the week, heavy rain will start to creep northward from North Carolina to the Mid-Atlantic. Your APFA LGA base council is here to support all affected members. If you are impacted by the storm, please contact your Crew Attendance Manager (CAM) for support. To avoid unnecessary stress under these circumstances, please communicate as soon as possible when you know you need time off to avoid any impact on the operation.
Also, remain considerate of our colleagues who must cover your trips or duty assignments.
The attendance policy allows personal emergency exceptions. Clear and timely communication with your CAM is essential for supporting and protecting your attendance record. We invite you to copy us in all communications with management and contact us for support using [email protected].
Important Resources to Keep at Hand
The APFA EAP department is a 24/7 support system members can rely on confidentially. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. EAP 833-214-2002
The Wings Foundation provides financial grants to American Airlines flight attendants who are in critical need of financial assistance due to illness, injury, or disability; or who sustain damage to their primary residence by a natural disaster or catastrophic event.
