The TA2024 section of the APFA website offers various calculators to help you determine your individual economic increases under the 2024 Tentative Agreement. Calculator options include Boarding Pay, Retro Pay, Wage Comparison, and 401(k). For the Trip Comparison Calculator, use the pull down menus to select your years of service, aircraft type, position, pairing type and speaker, if applicable.

Trip Comparison Calculator and Examples

The Trip Comparison Calculator lets you compare the pay for your trips under the JCBA and the 2024 Tentative Agreement. You can input all aspects of your pay, such as wages, per diem (time away from base or TAFB), premiums, overrides, and Boarding Pay, into the spreadsheet to estimate how much your pay would increase under the 2024 Tentative Agreement.

Below, we’ve compiled some examples using the trip comparison calculator. (click on all photos to enlarge).

Example #1: IPD Single Sequence

The first example using the Trip Comparison Calculator includes a Flight Attendant on an IPD sequence to Amsterdam.

In this example, the Time Away from Base (TAFB) was 48:27, the trip paid 16.07, and there were two 50-minute boardings. The Flight Attendant was working an aisle position to AMS.

The total pay for this AMS sequence under the JCBA is $1,281,53. The total pay under the 2024 Tentative Agreement is $1,619.14, a total pay increase of $337.61 for this individual sequence.

Example #2: Full Month of IPD Flying

This example includes a full month of IPD, which includes six trips.

Here, we have a Purser Flight Attendant with a total TAFB of 276:27, including twelve 50-minute boardings, and the total pay for the month was 97:52.

The total pay for this month of flying under the JCBA is $8,471.53. The total monthly pay under the 2024 Tentative Agreement is $10,500.68, a total monthly pay increase of $2,029.16.

Example #3: Domestic Turn Single Sequence

This example compares total compensation for a domestic 5 hour turn (DCA-PWM).

This Flight Attendant is flying the Lead position on an A319 with a TAFB of 9:29, three 30-minute boardings (the DCA-PWM leg had a mechanical, and includes pay for one extra boarding).

The total pay for this sequence under the JCBA is $377.46. The total sequence pay under the 2024 Tentative Agreement is $521.37, a total pay increase of $143.92 for the sequence.

In this example, you’ll notice that if you take the Boarding Pay of $61.68 for this sequence and divide by the five hours of sequence pay, you’re adding almost $12 an hour to the 13+ year pay rate of $82.24.

Example #4: Full Month of Domestic Turn Flying

This example compares pay for a month of domestic turn flying.

Here, we have a Lead Flight Attendant with a total TAFB of 112:42, including 27 thirty-minute boardings, and the total pay for the month was 83:48.

The total pay for this month of flying under the JCBA is $6,210.60. The total monthly pay under the 2024 Tentative Agreement is $8,102.36, a total monthly pay increase of $1,891.76.

Example #5: Full Month of High Time Domestic Flying at 10th Year Pay

Here, we have a 10-year Flight Attendant with a total TAFB of 397:15, including 43 thirty-minute boardings, and the total pay for the month was 106:18.

The total pay for this month of flying under the JCBA is $7,078.80. The total monthly pay under the 2024 Tentative Agreement is $9,321.93, a total monthly pay increase of $2,243.13.
