9.10.24 – APFA PHL Base Brief – APFA Emergency Notification System
Tuesday, September 10, 2024
Recently, one of our crews experienced a dangerous and potentially harmful situation on their way to their layover hotel. We were notified of the incident by one of the working crew members after they returned to base. We are angry, frustrated, and appalled that no one knew anything until after they returned. We immediately contacted the National APFA Safety Chair and Base to ascertain why there was no notification from the Company. We notified our local EAP Reps and they immediately began making calls and texts to the crew.
It is heartbreaking that this crew arrived at their hotel, overnighted far from home, and came back receiving absolutely no support! This has got to STOP!
Last year, APFA created our own Emergency Notification Line for crew members to report incidents and receive immediate support. Please save this number in your phone contacts. This latest incident proves to us, yet again, how important this number is; especially when we need it most.
If you find yourself in a dangerous situation, a crew member is missing, etc., please call the APFA Emergency Notification Line immediately!
