Allocations Information:October has two schedule changes that affect flying. The schedule change on October 7th adds additional domestic flying, and the IATA schedule change on October 27th, which is in conjunction with European DST, will usher in our Southern Hemisphere flying. After the IATA schedule change, some summer seasonal flying will end, and fall seasonal flying will begin for Brisbane (BNE), Auckland (AKL), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Santiago (SCL), and Buenos Aires (EZE).

DFW will operate all nine banks for October, with B9 canceling on Saturdays. Late night flying returns after a pull-down in September with a slight increase in ODANs and redeye pairings. Flying patterns may be disrupted the last week of October with the Halloween bank cancellation package affecting flight frequencies.

DFW did see a significant increase in domestic widebody flying, with the base being allocated an additional 3500 block hours compared to September. Some of this flying is Charter flying. An easy way to identify many charter flights is a flight number of nine thousand, for example 9748, 9729, and 9834. Charter information, including sequences, dates and type of Charter, can be found in the monthly Flight Attendant Bid Packet/PBS Header Sheet.

Trip construction remained mainly unchanged for October, with statistical data remaining status quo. The base always pushes for one and two-day pairings, which are the most popular and add much-needed scheduling flexibility.

DFW received 399,179 block hours, an increase of 4,386 hours from September. The STL satellite has 3,937 hours, whereas the AUS satellite will have 1,595 hours for October.
