Happy Fall, Boston! The TA has passed! It’s been a LONG journey, but we finally made it! APFA BOS is very proud of our voter turnout. You educated yourselves and made your voices heard.

First and foremost, many thanks to our Negotiating Committee. Their hard work and determination paid off. We are the FIRST Unionized Flight Attendant group to have Boarding Pay in our Contract. This is a major accomplishment and one we hope other FA Unions can attain in their collective bargaining.

Second, we would like to thank our previous APFA BOS Base President Amy Milenkovic, for her leadership and commitment to our members throughout the negotiations process, which began during her tenure. Lastly,  APFA BOS Leadership could not have done our jobs without the support of our current & former BOS CAT members – Anna Myers, Caleb Yang, Martin Temple, Will Griswold & Devyn Gourley. They worked tirelessly at every picket. They answered your questions in the terminal, provided you with APFA swag, and showed up daily for our Membership. We are grateful to have them supporting us in Boston.

• Unaccompanied Minors (UMs)

There has been a recent increase in UMs getting off the airplane unescorted. They are leaving on their own, but the Company is holding the crews accountable.

We have heard a couple of tips from Flight Attendants that may be helpful in keeping these kids from leaving without you. If the UM has a passport, you can keep it so they must collect it before leaving. You can also put their carry-on luggage in the forward part of the airplane so you will see them trying to find or grab it. They will likely not leave without their passport or baggage.

• What is an LTB or FA4?

Late to Boarding (LTB) means you scanned in after the scheduled start of Boarding Time, but the plane still departs on time. A FA4 delay means you scanned in after the scheduled start of Boarding, and the flight took a delay. These events fall under the Performance portion of the Attendance and Performance Policy. If either situation should occur, please reach out to APFA BOS for guidance.

• Meetings with Management – Reminder

If you see a PW on your schedule, you have a meeting with AA Management. You are entitled to have Union Representation present for any meeting or conversation with Management. Please don’t hesitate to contact APFA BOS or request that the Crew Manager pause your conversation until a Union Representative has been contacted.
