Pay Increases Explained

In this hotline:

• When will I see my new contractual pay raise?
• What will be paid and when will it be paid at the new 2024 CBA pay rates?

With ratification of the 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement (2024 CBA) comes much-anticipated pay increases for all Flight Attendants. Nothing will change with how and when you are paid. However, we want to explain when you can expect the new contractual pay raises in your paycheck.

When Will I See My New Contractual Pay Raise?

The new contractual pay raises are effective October 1st, 2024 (date of signing). The October 30th, 2024 paycheck is the first paycheck where you will see the pay increases provided for in the 2024 CBA.

To understand why that is, let’s first review the basics of how and when you are paid (JCBA 3.N, 2024 CBA 3.O):

• Flight Attendants are paid twice a month: on the 15th and the 30th.
• On the 30th, you receive an “advance” of 37.5 hours. This is an advance on the hours you worked in that month. Those hours may be prorated based on the number of days you are active during the first half of the contractual month.
• On the 15th, you are paid for all the flying hours earned during the previous month, including any premiums due on that flying – minus – the advance of 37.5 hours that was paid out on the 30th the month prior.
• Those two paychecks are paid at the current rate of pay for the month the hours were worked.
• Please refer to the Payroll Calendar on the Inflight Website for actual pay dates based on weekends and banking holidays.

Now, let’s review what that will look like for the next four paychecks:

• September 30th: 37.5-hour advance on September hours worked, paid at current JCBA rates.
• October 15th: Pay for hours worked in September, minus the 37.5-hour advance paid on September 30th, paid at current JCBA rates. Premiums and per diem on hours worked in September are also paid in the October mid-month check at current JCBA rates (e.g. IPD/NIPD, Speaker, Purser, Lead, Galley).
• October 30th: 37.5-hour advance on October hours worked, paid at new 2024 CBA rates.
• November 15th: Pay for hours worked in October, minus the 37.5-hour advance paid on October 30th, paid at new 2024 CBA rates. Premiums and per diem on hours worked in October are also paid in the November mid-month check at 2024 CBA rates (e.g. IPD/NIPD, Speaker, Purser, Lead, Galley).

What will be paid and when will it be paid at the new 2024 CBA pay rates?

• Pay increases are effective on the date of signing, which is October 1st, 2024.
• All flying in October and beyond will be at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• October 30th advance check will be at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• November 15th check will be at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay as it includes pay for October flying.
• All vacation scheduled on October 1st and beyond will be paid at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• Training events scheduled in October and beyond will be paid at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• Applicable premium pay increases begin with trips originating on October 1st and beyond and will be paid at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• Per diem increases are effective October 1st and will be paid at the new 2024 CBA rates of pay.
• For carry over sequences from September to October, new hourly rates of pay and per diem will be paid per 2024 CBA 11.D.7.
