Language Drop Proffer Closes

The newly ratified 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for improvements in the eligibility for Speaker Flight Attendants to drop a foreign language qualification. Flight Attendants bidding to drop a language qualification will now be eligible at seven (7) years of occupational seniority instead of ten (10).

The current proffer closes at 2359 CT on Monday, September 30, 2024.

In accordance with CBA 15.L.1, eligible Flight Attendants who are qualified in one or more foreign language may proffer to drop their language qualification(s).

Speakers (both active and inactive) who meet each of the following criteria are eligible:

• Seven (7) or more years of occupational seniority as of November 1, 2024.
• Not serving a language lock-in as of November 1, 2024.

Language drop proffer awards will be posted by 1800 CT on October 2, 2024, ahead of the opening of the LRD tool for November bidding. Awarded language qualification drops will be effective with the November bid month.
