9.26.24 – APFA LGA Base Brief – Hurricane Helene
Hurricane Helene
Thursday, September 26, 2024
To All LGA Flight Attendants,
Hurricane Helene is intensifying and is projected to hit Florida and the Southeastern United States. Flight attendants in the affected areas and their dependents should prioritize safety above all else. Please consider taking time off and arranging travel plans to ensure that any needs can be addressed immediately.
We recommend that you contact your Crew Attendance Manager during business hours to request any time off you may need. Please use your CAM’s direct email for situations like these, not the general email. If that is not possible, please get in touch with Crew Scheduling with as much notice as possible to minimize any impact on the operation and consider reserves who will need to fill the gaps in coverage. Please ensure your commuter city is listed in DECS if you need to travel. If you are attending to a family member and do not reside in this city, please be specific with your request to avoid any issues later.
Remember, your safety and that of your loved ones are paramount to us. Please prioritize this above everything else, especially during this challenging time.
Please include the LGA Base Council at [email protected] in all your communications with management. This will help us monitor your situation and provide you with the necessary support.
I have designated a base council rep to assist should you need help or have any concerns; please contact:
