Contract Implementation Update #4

In this hotline:

Effective October 1st, 2024

Commuter Policy (37.I)

• Expanded the First Flight qualifiers to include Sufficient Seats (load factor less than 90%) within 24 hours prior to departure.
  • Flight Attendant must submit documentation of sufficient seats and their presence at the gate for standby processing (e.g., Jetnet screen shot, monitor snapshot, boarding pass).
  • Other airlines (OAL) are now a qualifying commuting option as American Airlines and wholly owned carriers are today.
    • Until Further Notice:  In lieu of OAL load factor consideration, an OAL commuter will just need to provide a picture/screenshot that you listed 24 hours in advance (e.g. UAL). For same-day/at-gate listing (e.g. DL, SWA), you would provide your documentation of listing.

Note:
A Flight Attendant that is removed or denied from occupying a jumpseat due to a weight restriction or an inoperative jumpseat (37.G.9) who consequently misses their sequence, shall have such sequence qualify under the Commuter Policy.

DFW Training Hotel  (29.F.4)

• DFW based Flight Attendants that live more than 50 miles from the training location shall be provided hotel accommodations for CQ, additional training scheduled prior to or after recurrent training or equipment training.
• The zip code of your address in FOS/DECS will be used to determine distance eligibility by the company, and that list may be found in Comply365. If you live more than fifty (50) miles from the training center, but reside in a company excluded zip code, reach out to the Training Support Desk to secure your hotel room.
• Contact Training Support Desk (TSD) at 1-800-VIP-CREW 6,1, or use the live chat option on inflight website to request a hotel room.

48-Hour Freeze for Other Airline Deadheads  (16.G.16)

When a scheduled DH is on an offline air transportation (e.g. new service, seasonal service starts up) the sequence may not be traded in ETB or TTS/UBL within 48 hours prior to report. A Flight Attendant will be able to “no show” the deadhead should the sequence begin in the Flight Attendant’s commuter city. Alternative deadheads from a co-terminal or alternative station are prohibited.
