Happy October Chicago and Happy CBA implementation week! Congratulations to everyone in Chicago who worked tirelessly to make this happen!

Please keep an eye on APFA and company communications regarding implementing the changes associated with the new CBA. The first paycheck reflecting new wages will be at the end of October.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We’ve seen many of you wearing pink scarves and ties. Justin and I have already depleted our base supply of APFA pink pins. We have more on order, so fingers crossed that we receive them before the month’s end.

Most importantly, please perform self-breast exams and get yearly mammograms or screenings. Men, it is just as important for you to perform self- exams…yes, you can get breast cancer also. If you have a strong family history of breast cancer or feel an abnormal lump or growth in your chest, contact your primary care physicians. Early detection is the key!

The time has come to think about who will represent your best interest Statewide, Nationwide, and locally. Everyone votes in each election. Consider who joined us here in Chicago on our pickets:

Allocations

November begins the winter flying season for international, and we are down to two London departures in November. November is the first full month reflecting the winter pulldown in flying.

There is no wide body domestic flying in November. We were told this is driven by the planning department mostly. We will continue to ask for this type of flying to offset the loss of international trips in the winter.
