Month-over-month comparison (November  2024 vs. October 2024)

Turns in December 2024 have returned to 22%, the same level as October 2024, and 3% higher than November. We continuously ask for more turns. LAX could support at least 30% turns with a mix of high time and medium length turns.

Your local LAX Allocations Group also provides their feedback on a monthly basis once the preliminary allocations are published. They are…(with their primary areas of focus)…Michele Genovese (LAX), Wilson Ngai (ONT and IPD/NIPD), Dottie Long (transcons), Pam Askew (SNA), Ellen  Eherts (LAS) and Keri Sartell (SAN).

A decent bidsheet which takes into account our feedback as flight attendants also results in benefits to the company in the area of reliability. Sadly, the company often chooses to ignore feedback which would benefit all parties.

Some observations on the November bidsheet:

Total block hours increased from 88,763 to 91,494 between November 2024 and December 2024.

• LAX-AKL returns on December 3. First trip involves deadhead LAX-DFW and DFW-AKL
• Daily LAX-HNL 787 turn the last half of December
• LAX-OGG is a layover in the first half of the month and a turn in the last half
• 787 LAX-MIA turn in last half of month
• 787 LAX-PHL layover last half of month
• Variety of LAX-JFK
• 1434 departure LAX-BOS on the T
• Long turns to ATL, RDU, BNA
• Several LAX-DFW turns
• Intermittent redeyes to CLT, IND, MCO, MIA
• Flying concentrated in the last half of November at the satellites was problematic for coverage. Doug Price attempted to smooth that out for December
• Large reductions for the entire network on 12/24-25 and 12/31-1/1
• Additional Flying Added Across the Network from 12/26-12/30 and 1/4-1/5

LAX-Specific Purser Proffer

An LAX-specific Purser proffer with 40 slots will open on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 0001 CT and will close on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 2359 CT.

This proffer is a result of efforts going back over two years to increase our Purser ranks so as to eliminate Purser bid denials and enhance flexibility for all LAX Pursers.

Details are available in the CCI message dated Friday, November 1, 2024.

LAX NON-REV Employee Shuttle

Should you encounter any problems with the LAX non-rev employee shuttle, i.e. shuttles not operating on time; not operating regularly or not operating at all, please email LAX Base Manager Andrew Masiello at[email protected].

Calling In Well on Intermittent FMLA

Effective October 21, 2024, when calling in well while on Intermittent FMLA, please submit the form in Comply365. It can be found at My Forms > AAFA > Inflight Admin Requests.

The previous system of calling and leaving a message no longer applies.

From the WINGS Foundation: Recycling Update

Have our recycling procedures changed?

To be clear- recycling procedures have not changed. It is still standard service procedure to recycle aluminum cans and Wings Foundation is not advocating for Flight Attendants to stop recycling. Please continue to recycle for the benefit of the environment and trash management onboard the aircraft.

If you have questions about PBS, TTS, or any other company systems or policies, please direct your inquiries to LAX Inflight via email or phone at (424) 899-1800. Your crew managers are responsible for assisting you.

Management, including your crew managers, should be available to answer Flight Attendant questions about all aspects of our jobs rather than focus on micromanaging and disciplining Flight Attendants with insignificant issues. When management closed the Flight Attendant Bidding and Resource Center, they assured Flight Attendants that help would be available. Please reach out if you need assistance with your bids or any other company policy questions or issues. If you do not receive the help you need, please contact your APFA base leadership.
