31 Years Later: Remembering the 1993 Strike

Thirty-one years ago, at 6 AM in Dallas/Fort Worth, American Airlines Flight Attendants came together for a historic strike that truly transformed the airline industry. On November 18, 1993, during the bustling Thanksgiving travel rush, we united in our call for a fair contract that honored our hard work and commitment. Our strong solidarity that day not only affected our future but also set an inspiring example for generations to come. Together, we made a difference!

On that day, some of us walked off planes while others were cancelled in cities across the system. In the end, we gathered at airports across the country and worldwide and picketed in unity. American Airlines Flight Attendants were ready to give up pay and benefits because we knew we were worth more than management was willing to offer.

To all of the brave Flight Attendant strikers in 1993 and throughout history, we thank you for your dedication and sacrifices to preserve and protect the Flight Attendant profession.
