Read MoreThe negotiations last week focused on finalizing sections of the contract, which were open when negotiations were paused at the start of the global pandemic. One of the major discussions was Section 6, Crew Accommodations, particularly the severe problems of the company failing to provide hotels promptly in the case of rescheduling or cancellation. Another area on which we had a lot of discussion was the commuter policy, found in JCBA Section 37.I. With the recent displacements and packed flights, we need improvement to the commuter policy….
Read MoreOn Monday, we will first be discussing Seniority, Charters, and Crew Accommodations. Later in the week, we will also be discussing Moving Expenses, Uniforms, General, CRAF, and Probation. One of the hot issues to be discussed next week in the Crew Accommodations section will be the failure of management to provide hotels promptly. Last week, APFA filed a Presidential Grievance on the topic, concurrently with APA, to demand immediate solutions to the problem. This grievance demands immediate steps to resolve the issues, and discussions are ongoing with management to resolve the situation….

We have been working on sections of the Agreement that were under active negotiations last year. We have secured bargaining dates with the Company through the end of the year. Negotiations will commence in August. The Committee is looking at the remaining sections of the Agreement to identify key priorities for our bargaining. This includes many of the core sections of the Agreement, including Scheduling, Reserve, and Compensation….
