The negotiations last week focused on finalizing sections of the contract, which were open when negotiations were paused at the start of the global pandemic. One of the major discussions was Section 6, Crew Accommodations, particularly the severe problems of the company failing to provide hotels promptly in the case of rescheduling or cancellation. Last week, APFA filed a Presidential Grievance on the topic, concurrently with APA, to demand immediate solutions to the problem. This grievance demands immediate steps to resolve the issues, and discussions are ongoing with management to resolve the situation….

The Negotiating Committee has been meeting weekly since then to prepare for a return to the bargaining table. We have been working on sections of the Agreement that were under active negotiations last year. We have secured bargaining dates with the Company through the end of the year. Negotiations will commence in August. The Committee is looking at the remaining sections of the Agreement to identify key priorities for our bargaining. This includes many of the core sections of the Agreement, including Scheduling, Reserve, and Compensation….
